Meningococcal B vaccination possible via chip card from January 2025

An agreement has now been reached between health insurance companies and the “Kassenärztliche Vereinigung” for the meningococcal B vaccination. From January 2025 on, the vaccine will be available in the practice and will be directly billed and handled with the health insurance companies. You will no longer need a private prescription and will not have to pay for the vaccine or the vaccination service in advance. If you already received a private prescription last year and have not yet redeemed or requested it, please discard the prescription and come to the practice without the vaccine.

If you as a parent have paid in advance for the costs of the vaccine and vaccination services in the past year of 2024, we recommend that you submit the receipts to your health insurance company for reimbursement soon.

Children up to their 5th birthday can be vaccinated against meningococcus B at the expense of the statutory health insurance funds. Older children can also be vaccinated, but the costs must be clarified individually with the health insurance company in advance.
