The RS virus can cause severe respiratory infections in infants. This is why the STIKO recommends RSV prophylaxis for babies in their first RSV season. With a single dose of the RSV antibody vaccine (Beyfortus), your child is protected for the entire RSV season (October to March).
Children born between April and September 2025 can now be protected. We have already informed these families about the possibility of RSV prophylaxis. When: from now until ideally mid/end of November, procedure: Pick up prescription at the practice → get vaccine from the pharmacy (store in a cool place) → bring to an existing appointment or make a separate appointment online/by phone
Babies born between October 2025 and March 2026 often receive the protection in the hospital shortly after birth. If you register your child with us after the birth, please let us know whether your baby has already received the prophylaxis in hospital or should receive it shortly afterwards.
Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to make an appointment.
